Rory Paterniti - Needham High School '22
Rory’s favorite book when he was a kid was “Miss Rumphius”, by Barbara Cooney.
Rory is a rising junior at Needham High School. She loves being a part of the high school swim team, but also enjoys swimming at the beach, pool or anywhere else with her friends. She also loves reading just about any genre, especially dystopian novels. During the winter, she likes to ski with her family in Vermont, and her favorite part of summer is being with her cousins lakeside and biking around town with her friends.
It is such an honor to work with such amazing students. In the 15 weeks since schools closed due to the COVID-19 crisis, families need support more than ever. Rory Paterniti has been helping from the safely from her home.
Rory’s attention to detail and willingness to take on multiple projects and complete them in a time-sensitive manner has contributed to the positive impact on our Community Outreach programs.
A special thank you to Rory Paterniti for all her hard work!

The Community Service Learning Program is an important part of the educational experience offered at Needham High School. All students are required to complete two community service learning credits (60 hours) as part of their graduation requirement.
The mission of the Community Service Learning Program is to broaden students’ experiences beyond the traditional classroom by providing opportunities to become involved in volunteerism, service learning, and career exploration. By engaging in such activities, students learn more about themselves, their interests, and the privileges and responsibilities of being a member of a school, local, and global community.
